Conference

The Discipline of Classics will be holding a conference at the University of Adelaide in December 2008. To mark the approaching retirement of Dr Ron Newbold, senior lecturer and long-time staff member, his colleagues are hosting a conference/colloquium dedicated to the celebration of his long and fruitful careers. The conference/colloquium will focus on emotions, status and power in antiquity.

Classical Association

The next meeting of the Classical Association (Semester 2) will be held at at 8 pm Monday 27 October 2008 at the lecture theatre, Hughes Level 3. The speaker will be Dr Ronald Newbold on the subject of "The Fall of the Roman Empire: when and why." This is the 4th and final lecture of the association's centenary year.
